Pocket PC 2002/Merlin now speaks national languages

Czech, Hungarian, Russian and Slovenian Language Extender products for HP Jornada 560 have been released.

Our company, Paragon Software (SHDD), announces first beta versions in new Language Extender product line developed for Pocket PC 2002/Merlin that is latest Microsoft mobile platform announced on 4th of October 2001. Today we release the programs which provide national language support feature in original English OS as well as optional feature of full OS interface translation to any of 4 available national languages: Czech, Hungarian, Russian and Slovenian. Other language versions (Polish, Greek, Romanian, Slovak, Turkish...) are being developed now.

The programs were specially developed and tested on Jornada 560 that is first Merlin based PDA device.

New generation of SlovoEd dictionaries

Paragon Software (SHDD) announces today new generation of handheld dictionaries for Palm OS - SlovoEd 3.0. New features which come with new version:

• New improved interface with colour support
• Now dictionaries are customisable. Customers can edit and remove existing entries, add new entries to dictionaries
• Database sorting order and text selection engines are essentially improved
• Unidirectional databases are supported now

The company launches SlovoEd 3.0 with many new dictionary databases. In August, 2001 the company has signed a license agreement with Smart Link Corporation, world famous dictionaries development company. Today Paragon Software (SHDD) announces new SlovoEd 3.0 with many databases developed by Smart Link Corporation: English - Spanish - English, English - German - English, English - Italian - English, English - French - English, English - Portuguese and others.

In addition to this Paragon has a license agreement signed with Arsenal Company. According to this agreement Paragon incorporates into new SlovoEd 3.0 also several databases developed by Arsenal.

Paragon Software (SHDD) continues Palm OS dictionary engine development. The company intends new dictionary business expansion during next few months. At the moment Paragon Software (SHDD) is concluding negotiations with several other world famous companies about licensing from them new quality dictionary databases to incorporate them into powerful SlovoEd core. In nearest future Paragon Software (SHDD) plans to release many new Palm OS dictionaries for East and West European languages: Czech, Polish, Russian, Greek, Norwegian, Swedish, Hungarian and others.
