FREIBURG, Alemania – agosto de 2009 – Paragon Software Group ha lanzado una nueva versión de su aplicación más vendida de pronóstico del clima en tiempo real, Handy Weather, para equipos S60 y Windows Mobile con pantallas táctiles. El programa ha sido rediseñado y optimizado completamente para poder tener un mejor control con los dedos, basado en la avanzada interfaz táctil de las últimas series S60 y Windows Mobile de smartphones, permitiendo que los usuarios móviles obtengan el pronóstico del tiempo más detallado con sólo un toque o deslizamiento del dedo.

Handy Weather es la manera más fácil y confiable de acceder a la información del tiempo local, nacional y mundial en grados Celsius o Fahrenheit en un entorno móvil. Los usuarios de Handy Weather pueden obtener en forma instantánea el pronóstico detallado del tiempo de cinco o siete días, soportado por mapas satelitales, para cientos de ciudades. Para obtener información experta sobre el tiempo, los usuarios pueden elegir cualquier ubicación de una lista preestablecida de 40.000 ciudades o determinar una ubicación utilizando el GPS. Los menús para manejar con el dedo y las opciones de la barra de la pantalla táctil facilitan el acceso instantáneo a los detalles del tiempo tocando dos veces la pantalla "Hoy". El usuario recibe pronósticos del tiempo por hora, día y semana con un solo toque, deslizando hacia abajo por la lista de ciudades, acercando o alejando, rotando y moviendo los mapas del tiempo, todo con el toque de un dedo. El único requisito necesario es la compatibilidad con Internet inalámbrica para que los usuarios reciban información del tiempo en tiempo real.

Además de la nueva apariencia completamente rediseñada, Handy Weather (para S60) ofrece un nuevo protector de pantalla del tiempo, una nueva función "Lista de ciudades" que proporciona el pronóstico para varias ciudades al mismo tiempo, así como varios efectos animados que acompañan a la información del tiempo.

Ab sofort erhältlich im iTunes Online Store

Mit der neuen, 25. Auflage steht das Standardwerk der deutschen Rechtschreibung erstmals auch iPhone-Besitzern zur Verfügung. Die Software ist in Zusammenarbeit mit der Paragon Software Group entwickelt worden. Erhältlich ist das Programm ab sofort zum Preis von 19,99 Euro im iTunes Online Store.

Der Duden für iPhone und iPod touch enthält den kompletten Inhalt des Standardwerks „Duden – Die deutsche Rechtschreibung”. Mobil nachschlagen lassen sich rund 135 000 Stichwörter mit über 500 000 Beispielen, Bedeutungserklärungen und Angaben zu Worttrennung, Aussprache, Grammatik, Stilebenen und Etymologie. So erweitern Profis die Fähigkeiten ihres Smartphones und haben den aktuellen Wortschatz der deutschen Gegenwartssprache unterwegs immer parat. Inklusive der 5 000 Wörter, die es neu in den Duden geschafft haben – angefangen von „Abwrackprämie”, „fremdschämen”, „Hybridauto” und „twittern” bis hin zu „Zwergplanet”. Auch die bewährten Dudenempfehlungen finden sich im Duden für iPhone: Eine gelbe Markierung zeigt an, welche der zulässigen Schreibweisen die Dudenredaktion empfiehlt.

Der Duden für iPhone und iPod touch bietet außerdem akustische Aussprachehilfe zu mehreren Tausend schwierigen Wörtern wie El Kaida, B2B-Geschäft, Barrique oder Grande Dame. Ein Antippen mit dem Finger genügt und das ausgewählte Wort wird von einem professionellen Sprecher der ARD vorgelesen.

Der Duden wird unterstützt von iPhones mit der Firmware 2.0, von den iPhones 3G und 3G S sowie vom iPod touch mit Firmware 2.0 bis 3.0.

Weitere Programmmerkmale

Die SlovoEd-Technologie von Paragon bietet eine sehr anwenderfreundliche Nutzeroberfläche – der Wörterbucheintrag zum gesuchten Wort erscheint schnell und übersichtlich. Eine Internetverbindung ist für die Benutzung des Dudens nicht notwendig. Das Wörterbuch muss nur einmal heruntergeladen werden und ist dann auf dem iPod touch oder iPhone ohne weitere Gebühren nutzbar.

Wenn dem Benutzer die richtige Schreibung eines Wortes unklar ist, lässt sich das gesuchte Wort mit sogenannten Platzhaltern (wie ‚?’ oder ‚*’) anstelle von Buchstaben eingeben, also beispielsweise „aufw*ndig”.

Verweise zwischen Wörterbucheinträgen sind über Hyperlinks gelöst, die das Springen zu einem anderen Eintrag schnell und einfach machen.

Wer ein bereits nachgeschlagenes Wort wiederfinden möchte, kann die praktische „History”-Funktion nutzen, die 50 Wörter auflistet, die zuletzt nachgeschlagen wurden.

Wird ein Wort falsch eingegeben, zeigt das iPhone eine Liste von Wörtern an, die stattdessen infrage kommen.

Zum digitalen Nachschlagen ist der neue Duden außer im iTunes Online Store auch für die wichtigsten anderen mobilen Plattformen wie Symbian, Windows Mobile und Palm OS erhältlich sowie als Software für Windows, Mac und Linux verfügbar.
