[Septiembre 22, 2003] RifleSLUGs-W declares Wild Web Wars! Paragon Software (SHDD) introduces the new concept of Palm OS games development.
Today at the European PalmSource Developer Conference Paragon Software (SHDD)
announced a new wireless game – RifleSLUGs-W: Wild Web Wars.
RifleSLUGs-W is a sequel of the popular game series RifleSLUGs and RifleSLUGs-II for
Palm OS. During several weeks after the releases the products jumped into the Top 10
of the most popular Palm OS games.
RifleSLUGs is a reincarnation of well-known PC strategy games concept. It is a
step-by-step strategy game in which two armies of slugs (red and yellow) battle for
existence. Using a wide range of weapons, the armies engage in fierce battle,
attempting to annihilate each other. Players can battle with each other via Infrared
or Bluetooth connections on their wireless Palm Powered devices. There is a choice
of different battle maps and tons of weapons.
The principle new features of RifleSLUGs-W are the series of multi-players modes.
Players can battle with each over via Infrared or Bluetooth connections on their
wireless Palm Powered devices. In addition to the launch of this games series,
Paragon Software has introduced a game server that will host multi-player games of
RifleSLUGs. Connecting to this server from a Palm Powered device or from a PC Palm
OS emulator customers can play with each other via TCP/IP protocol. Now, it is
unnecessary to look for a partner for your game in the neighborhood – you can login
to the web server and find thousands of people from different parts of the globe
waiting to battle with you.
"RifleSLUGs-W: Wild Web Wars is a great Palm OS gaming application designed
to leverage the advantages of the wireless capabilities and high-resolution screens
of many Palm Powered devices and deliver a unique mobile gaming
experience," said Larry Berkin, director of global developer marketing,
PalmSource, Inc.
RifleSLUGs-W: Wild Web Wars is now available with four packs of new battle maps: two
of them are includedto the game package, two others are distributed as stand
alone add-ons. The company plans to continue designing new maps and to offer a
number of new scenarios. New versions of RifleSLUGs-W will also be available soon
for the Sony CLIE UX40/50 and for the new Zodiac from Tapwave, Inc.
