Palm OS will be available in Hungarian soon
Paragon Software (MCD) and Hungarian company M.I.T Systems, that is specialized on software development for PDA devices, signed an agreement about doing Full Hungarian localization project and Hungarian-English-Hungarian dictionary program for Palm OS. The
programs will be developed by Paragon Software (MCD) using a big experience of M.I.T. Systems in translation of different kinds of software from English to Hungarian and using dictionary databases of M.I.T. Systems. M.I.T. Systems will exclusive distributor of final programs in Hungary. The programs will be also availalble for electronic delivery. The companies hope that availability of fully localized Palm OS and dictionary application for Palm OS will open new era of big sales for Hungarian Palm device resellers.

Handspring Visor will be available in 12 European languages
Paragon Software (MCD) and MDS Holdings, the sole Handspring Visor product line distributor for Central and Eastern Europe, signed an agreement about the localization of the OS. According to this agreement MDS Holdings will order from Paragon Software (MCD) the full interface localization solutions for all Handspring mobile computers (including the new Handspring Visor Prism, the Handspring Visor Platinum and new devices to be introduced in the future) for 12 European languages: Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Turkish, Ukranian. The solutions will be developed being based on the new PiLoc 2.0 localization technologies that enables new features such as the Targus Portable Keyboard support and automatic start of localization program after system reset. Full interface localization programs that will be developed by Paragon Software (MCD) will
include the FULL Handspring Visor interface translation to local language. It means that all menus, icons, system alerts are translated into local language.
The solutions for the first group of several languages are already completed. Paragon Software (MCD) and MDS Holgings plan to start the distribution of
Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian and Turkish localization programs by the end of January. Starting from this time MDS Holdings will distribute all Handspring mobile computers into the above stated countries bundled with PiLoc national language system. At the same time Paragon Software (MCD) will start on-line sales of the localization systems via Digital River, PalmGear and Handango on-line systems.
As a full interface localization makes mobile device fully understandable to any local user. MDS Holdings expects that the localized PiLoc system will make the Handspring Visor more accessible, easier to use and more popular. It will as such increase the Handspring Visor market share across Central and Eastern European countries. This new contract with MDS Holdings confirms again that PiLoc localization technology really becomes a standard for the Palm OS PDA market. Paragon software (SHDD) licensed PiLoc technology for
developing Full Hebrew localization of Handspring Visor
Handspring Visor will be available soon fully localized to Hebrew language.
Paragon Software (SHDD) and Israel company YAAR signed an agreement in Moscow. According to this agreement Paragon licenses to YAAR its technology for developing Hebrew support in Palm OS as well as technology of Full Palm OS interface localization. YAAR plans to develop its own solution, EBY, to support Hebrew and create Hebrew UI for Visor devices. YAAR, which recently got from Handspring a status of official national distributor, plans to distribute all Visor devices in the country localized to Hebrew language to make the platform fully understandable and user friendly for all potential cutomers in Israel.
According to the agreement YAAR also get a status of official Paragon Sofware representative company in Israel.

Wacom Greece chose PenReader. Special Greek edition of PenReader will be available soon
AMY SA company, general distributor of
Wacom Graphire products in Greece, deciced to order from Paragon Software (MCD)
special Greek edition of Desktop PenReader handwriting recognition system.
The program will include PenReader recognition core, adapted specially for
Greek language, Greek program interface and help module in Greek language.
New Desktop PenReader Greek will be distributed by AMY SA company in bundle
with all Wacom Graphire products sold by the company.
PenReader was presented to Greek IT customers by AMY SA in Augest 2000.
The system was shown in one the most popular Greek TV broadcast about new
technologies. TV viewers were very impressed with PenReaders features
especially with quality of Greek language support option. AMY SA received
a great number of requests from pen tablets owners who wanted to have
PenReader on their PCs. So AMY SA decided to order special Greek version
development and include it in the standard device package. Today AMY SA
consider Greek handwriting recognition option as essential part of pen
tablet package and hope that PenReader Greek edition will make Wacom
products much more popular in Greece.
