Word definition look-up without leaving the active application, the most updated modern vocabulary, search in any grammatical form

FREIBURG, Germany – May, 2009 – Paragon Software Group, the world’s leading software developer for mobile devices and desktop PCs, and PONS GmbH, well known for its green dictionaries and self study materials have launched a series of multilingual dictionaries for Mac OS users. PONS Mac OS product line includes six most popular dictionaries – German-French, German-Italian, German-English, German-Polish, German-Spanish and German-Turkish.

The original dictionaries from the 30-year publishing veteran PONS were adapted to the electronic versions for Mac OS users’ convenience to provide extensive translation or word definition by simply pointing the cursor over the word in question.

Unknown words from any document, e-mail and web-page are defined in a matter of seconds. The user can also listen to pronunciations and view grammar info. The detailed word definitions are accompanied by usage and sound samples, transcription, grammar information, and color markup. Every dictionary contains the most updated modern vocabulary from a variety of areas such as the Internet, new media, and much more.

Features:

• Word definition look-up without leaving the active application and switching to the dictionary. Read e-mails, documents, and Web pages from your PC and get word translations by simply pointing the cursor over the unknown word.
• Word search in any grammatical form (plural nouns, adjectives, different verb forms) using built-in morphology module (English, French, Spanish).
• Sound modules pre-recorded by native speakers.
• Grammar reference for every word in the dictionary (for English, French, Russian, Spanish).

• “Fuzzy search” and wildcards ("*", "?", etc.) help find words even if you do not remember the exact spelling.
• Enter words in your native language faster by using on-screen virtual keyboard.

• New Dictionary Online Update feature allows you to upload new dictionary content.
• Discover new dictionaries and download them directly to your device with the built-in online dictionary catalogue.

The products will be available for 55.95 EUR (German-English, German-French, German-Italian, German-Spanish) and 39.95 EUR (German-Turkish) from www.penreader.com/mac-os-software/PONS.html and www.pons.de by the end of May 2009. The German-Polish dictionary priced at 39.95 EUR is expected to be sold later this summer. The programs support Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard).
