Paragon Software Group wins GTB’s Innovation Awards 2009

Global Telecoms Business Recognizes Paragon Software Group and Mobile TeleSystems with 'Most Innovative Project' Award

MOSCOW, Russia, June 23, 2009 – Paragon Software Group (PSG), the leading smartphone and desktop PC software developer, received the “Best Consumer Mobile Service Innovation” award by the UK-based publication Global Telecoms Business in a ceremony held in London on June 16, with representatives from Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) (NYSE: MBT), and 350 other telecom industry leaders present.

The award was given for the MTS Catalogue project, a customizable, single-point directory of seven of the most essential mobile applications and services, developed by PSG exclusively for MTS subscribers. “We were impressed by the quality and number of nominations this year — the most we have ever had — so it was a special triumph to be one of the winners this year. This was an outstanding project and well deserves its award,” said Alan Burkitt-Gray, the editor of Global Telecoms Business. The winners, as selected by the judging panel, represent the most innovative projects in the industry worldwide.

“Originally launched in February 2009 to mobile customers in Russia and the CIS, the service could be customized for any region and used by millions of mobile users worldwide,” said Alex Zudin, CEO at PSG. "Many Russian customers use this service regularly and find it to be an invaluable application portal for their mobile devices."

The MTS Catalogue contains the following applications and online services:

• Five-day weather forecast for any location in the world
• Currency and measurement conversion
• Interactive maps of local traffic and road conditions
• One-click e-mail access
• The latest headlines through continuously updated RSS feeds via RSS news service
• Kaspersky antivirus software
