New Slovoed with the innovative technology for learning foreign languages

Paragon Software (SHDD) presents the new technology for learning foreign languages implemented into the next generation of Slovoed dictionary engine. Features of the officially released today new Slovoed give you an opportunity of learning words whenever you have time for this.

Now Slovoed multi-language dictionaries enable adding the words with translations to the "Flash Cards" and then passing a Quiz. Another way of learning words is the "Word of Day" feature: a random word entry will be shown to you every day on the start of the program.

Slovoed dictionaries already became one of the most popular dictionaries solutions for Palm OS platform, they keep their places in all bestsellers lists of dictionary software for three years.

"Slovoed dictionaries developed by Paragon Software (SHDD) are shining examples of well-developed software applications for Palm OS", - said Larry Berkin, the Director, Global Developer Marketing, PalmSource, Inc. - "They incorporate Palm OS design philosophy so seamlessly, it is sometimes difficult for users to tell where they end and the Palm OS begins."

Tungsten T2 is localized in European languages

Paragon Software (SHDD) announces the release of the new technology of complete Palm Tungsten T2 localization.

The company presents new PiLoc localization technology of complete Palm Tungsten T2 interface translation almost at the same time with the official introduction of Tungsten T2 by Palm, Inc. PiLoc creates an environment to operate with Palm Tungsten T2 in national language. PiLoc provides full translation of Palm Tungsten T2 interface to national languages (desktop icons, menu, dialogs of built-in Palm OS applications are translated). PiLoc also includes national fonts, national keyboard layout and national Graffiti 2 support. With all these features PiLoc makes the device look like if the national version of Palm OS was installed into ROM. Using PiLoc on Palm Tungsten T2 customers could work with their native languages and understand Palm concept even if they don’t speak English or other built-in languages.

PiLoc is already recognized as a de-facto standard of Palm OS localization problem in many countries. A lot of official distributors of Palm, Handspring and Sony Clie bundle PiLoc with devices they sell.

Today Paragon Software (SHDD) officially releases complete Czech and Russian localizations of new Palm Tungsten T2 with full interface translation and Graffiti 2 support. Complete Dutch, Greek and Polish translations of Palm Tungsten T2 are scheduled for release at the beginning of next week. Other 23 languages will be added gradually. Lite version that enables national fonts support, national keyboard layout and national Graffiti support, is already available for Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Turkish.

"PiLoc provides a complete solution for end users and corporate customers who want to use their local language on their Palm Powered device(s)", - said Larry Berkin, Director of Global Developer Marketing of PalmSource, Inc, - "PiLoc provides an industry-leading, comprehensive approach to national language support that is highly-integrated with Palm OS. PiLoc provides localization functions for: input methods (on-screen keyboard, Graffiti & Graffiti2 and Soft Graffiti, portable keyboards), text sorting, global search, operations selection according to rules of national alphabets, different encoding type support, text alignment functions for Hebrew and Arabic languages, and a complete interface translation of Palm OS into a variety of national languages.&

In the nearest plans of PiLoc development are: introduction of the first in the world Arabic localization of Palm OS 5.0-5.2 and localization of new Palm devices the company plans to announce in autumn.
